PURCHASE “BY THE BARREL: 25 YEARS OF THE OREGON COMMENTATOR”

By the Barrel: 25 Years of the Oregon Commentator is the culmination of 25 years of the Oregon Commentator‘s existence on the campus of the University of Oregon. Edited by Timothy Dane Carbaugh and produced by Guy Simmons, the book contains stories of death threats, cries of racism, vandalism, de-fundings and power struggles.

The book is organized with a 60-page overview by the editor followed by nine selected events in Oregon Commentator history. Short narratives written by either the editor or specially commissioned essays written by alumni make up the initial narratives to these chapters, after which the primary documents concerning the events have been given to properly contextualize the insanity.

Finally, there are ten selected essays, including a foreword, written by Commentator alumni that commemorate the publication’s history. The book sells for just $15 shipped to your door or $10 at the University of Oregon’s Campus Bookstore on 13th and Kincaid. Copies can also be bought from the Commentator‘s office directly in room 319 of the EMU.
