</p> <p>Hi there. Tonight we’ve got another ASUO Senate meeting coming up that you can follow live below. Looking at the <a href="http://asuo.uoregon.edu/senate.php?a=142">agenda</a> for the meeting, it appears special requests are out and confirmations are in. ASUO President Emma Kallaway still has Xavier Aranda’s confirmation to the ASUO Senate pending, and she’s spent this week appointing an entire elections board. So I guess you can expect a lengthy meeting.</p> <p>A word about Aranda’s confirmation. As the <a href="http://www.dailyemerald.com/con-court-rules-aranda-is-eligible-for-senate-seat-1.859992">Emerald</a> reports, it’s now been confirmed that it’s OK for the Senate to appoint him. The Emerald also published an <a href="http://www.dailyemerald.com/senate-should-confirm-aranda-1.858161">editorial</a> about the subject the day before the ruling came out.</p> <p>The Emerald’s editorial makes it sound as though this was the only obstacle to Aranda’s confirmation. However, it probably isn’t. Just look at Sen. Alex McCafferty’s comment below the article, which overtly states that Aranda will still have to face further questions about his suitability for the job.
