Obama to return to campus
Apparently, Obama is returning to campus to speak tomorrow in the Memorial Quad outside Knight Library. Doors (?) open at 5:45 p.m. The only source I have for this is a Facebook Event, but it appears to be hosted by Students for Obama. I’ll keep you updated. If it’s true, you’ll be able to watch the whole thing (sans sound) through the old Obelisk Cam.
UPDATE: Yep, it’s confirmed on Obama’s website.

Hillary is also returning to Oregon, though it looks like she’ll be hitting Ashland, Central Point, and Portland in lieu of another stop in Eugene.

The Hillary people outside the EMU said she’s coming to Eugene on the 15th, but they don’t know where “Might be Springfield…”
It’s sad that they think so, she’ll have dropped out by then…

Math is not one of Hillary’s strong points….apparently. I even read this morning how Penn (now fired) originally looked to big states as must-wins for Hillary because she’d get so many delegates. Of course, somehow, he managed to forget about proportional distribution of delegates in the Democratic primary. Oops.

Christ, how many times do we have to hear the ‘hope and change’ speech live? maybe Obama should just make his campaign HQ the Knight library.

I’m not sure if Christ has the answer, but I do: twice. And you don’t HAVE to listen. I mean, even though they’ve planted a line of shrubs along the quad recently and the President’s Office went ballistic, it’s not like people are forced to listen to Obama.
You’re an adult, make your own choices as to how many times you want to hear it.
Maybe Obama should wear a Nike swish on his lapel?

Check out the amazing news anouncement ont eh uoregon.edu main site:
“The University of Oregon will see more activity than usual throughout the day on Friday, May 9. A wide variety of events are scheduled at UO facilities, which may make travel on and around campus congested. Activities include a rally for Democratic presidential hopeful, Sen. Barack Obama; the 40th Annual Mother’s Day Pow Wow at McArthur Court; a Duck softball game at Howe Field; the Twilight Meet at Hayward Field; and the ASUO Spring Street Faire on East 13th Avenue. In addition, the Erb Memorial Union will be hosting a full contingent of events on Friday.”
Hilarious

Hey Holman, How about I push you into the Millrace?
May 9th, 2008 at 9:12 am
From what I’ve heard about Chris Holman, he could probably break your arm(s) before you had a chance to do any pushing.

How about a Millrace Relay? All participants must be drunk of course…with life preservers on. Tom, you can wear your arm floaties.

Whats up? Secret Service turn off the chapman cam?
May 9th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
No but meanwhile the p.l.c squirrels are all being detained and have the potential to end up in the deep fryer of some “sustainable”burger joint on west 11th. All to keep these lousy dems safe from the embarassment of squirrel vs newsanchorperson attacks. In the future OBAMA must commit to campus critter cruelty free visits to stay on the correct side of political smartness.
