Specifically, the time my dad was rediscovering his old record collection, and getting all jazzed about listening to some classic Floyd. So he busts out "Set The Controls" and tells me (I'm eleven, maybe twelve at the time) that I'm gonna love it. 20 minutes of psychedelic drone later, he admits that "you really have to be on drugs to enjoy music like this." Needless to say, it was a formative moment. Wow. So much to learn.
