Playing partisan politics? The last thing the OC staff, other than Jin, wants to do is play any kind of politics. Remember, the Commentator is an opinionated journal, it is not our duty to produce unbiased news. Maybe if we enjoyed a six-figure contract from the ASUO and there had not been several attempts to defund this program over the years, we would be a bit more apt to do so.

The Commentator does not agree with any illegal tactics used by Hamilton during the election season, nor do we like that the ASUO Executive has had as much power in the elections as it has: McLain's most loyal campaigner was elections board coordinator and her finance coordinator was the campaign manager for Rock The Yellow. It is obvious to see how they took advantage of their position in order to secure a successor.

This isn't Russia, Danny, is this Russia? No, this isn't Russia.

The whole thing stinks like yesterday's leftovers.

Once the ASUO government starts limited free speech, it can go to hell. So excuse us for not caring that Hamilton went through some dorms to get a few votes. Although I do feel bad for those poor freshman; Hamilton is a very intimidating person. She scares me.

Hey, why aren't YOU talking about it, Mr. Demand-y pants? Why aren't you talking about genocide in Darfur? Why aren't you talking about China's human rights violations? Why aren't you talking about the Nike/nanotechnology/UO/ubermensch conspiracy?

I'm not talking about it because, frankly, student politics makes my head asplode. It's apathy not partisan politics. Oh, and there will be a full elections wrap-up in the next issue ... not written by me.

Well, it finally happened... we have a sitting senator blogging for the OC!

Hopefully someone can correct me on this, but I believe Brett Jacobsen was the last OC/ASUO multitasker... and that was what, 98? 99?

Make sure things things stay unbearably real in that boardroom!

I see. What ever happened to, "hey, every pitch in a few bucks for the subscription and food"? I'm all for throwing parties, but why does the ASUO continually allow student money to be used for them: see Hawaii Club retreats.

I didn't notice before, but it's actually at the club leader, Jim Cleavenger's house. Apparently the subscription for the FA Cup Finals is about $50. The rest is for food.

The money was for two banners, and money to pay for soccer game watching sessions that venues paid subscription fees to get access to.

What the heck is Soccer is the ral Futbol doing asking for money? Isn't that the group that meets at Taylor's - used to meet at Rennie's, not sure what happened there - and watched international soccer matches? It's a great club, but what the hell do they need student money for?

Sean, incorrect spelling does not equal unprofessionalism here, don't you know that yet?
