Everybody makes typos, but that phrase really is a bit much.

Every candidate is the Mitt Romney of the ASUO.

I know nothing about the candidates this time around, but that’s easily one of the most intelligent statements I’ve ever heard about the PFC from an incoming Exec. Not a bad place from which to start.

It may not be the only thing worth looking at, but it’s hardly an unpromising indicator, is it? Perhaps old age has made me unduly optimistic.

– This is unnecessary. I’m pretty sure everyone’s aware of the incredible limit that exists to ASUO power. But people follow the election for a variety of reasons, including: concern about increases to the tuition by way of the incidental fee, the future of their student program, frustration with the worthlessness of the ASUO, and perhaps most interestingly, the patterns it reveals more generally about political life in America. All of these reasons are legitimate and have nothing to do with a delusional and grandiose concept about the extent of ASUO importance. (While I’ll admit there are also some who do have such a concept, I really don’t think the Commentator is among them.)

Further, your condescending tone and poor use of sarcasm is simply annoying, to be frank, and not warranted here.

Anyway, time to go party!

This is hilarious. I love that you guys cling to the idea of corruption and abuse of power by ASUO students, as if any of this is actually important enough to abuse what “power” student senators have. I mean, I like the Oregon Commentator for the most part. But really?
