Chewbaca Defense.

Did anyone not see this coming? Last year Tylee was the only person who ran for Senate affiliated with the Mclain/SunOwen ticket. She wore an Emily McLain t-shirt every single day and was one of their biggest campaigners even after she bombed out in the first round. In other words, the most dedicated campaign hack for McLain becomes elections coordinator, and then for some mysterious reason starts going after Sam and Johnny, telling them what they can or can't wear, say and sell?

Talk about proof that things need to change. This proves utterly that elections cannot be handled by the executive, because they cannot be trusted to not misuse the power. McLain flirted with this line last year, illegally using Listserv to harass people, and secret, unaccountable groups to distribute negative advertising. At the time I was disappointed with her willingness to throw out rules and decency just to win, but this is just a whole new level of sleaze.

Ian: Agreed 100%. Kendell Tylee, who unfortunately for her is being coerced by a larger power, could face a wide range of legal action. That's not to mention the action she opening the University to. This is 100% positively going to be turned into a free speech issues and short of a Cochran defense, this girl better start looking for a good attorney.

ASUO candidates could have their names removed from the election ballot if they wear campaign clothing on the same day an advertisement in their favor appears in the Emerald, according to a decision by the elections board.

Hahaha, what is the board and Con Court thinking? They're not only regulating speech in the press, but also what the candidates are and are not allowed to wear? Are they fucking insane?

Ossie: Please list the members of the board online. People who make such hilariously absurd and biased decisions should really be held accountable where there names can be forever Googled.
