What's funny about that quote from the Insurgent guy at the end of the Spew is that homeless people already *do* occupy parts of public buildings at night. The stairwell area of the DEQ office on Lincoln St. routinely becomes home for the homeless, and according to my father, who works there, it's routinely filled with homeless-person feces.

Another "shitty" (Get it? Get it? Just let that one sink in for a minute, then it'll be funny...) idea from the Insurgent!

We never ran an AP column last year, despite our efforts to find someone for the job. To find someone that actually disagrees with the editorial standpoint of the OC that would also be willing to write is quite the challenge these days, not to mention the hurdle of actually getting interesting content out of them.

And I hate to say it, but the cover? I know you guys are going for the slacker look this year, which really works for the content (which is great, by the way), but the cover either draws people into picking up the mag and giving it a chance, or they keep walking by and pick up an ODE instead for the crossword. I know the OC at its best is content driven, but no one will give it a chance if they aren't curious in the first place.

Um, maybe you all spent hours contemplating and refining your editorials back in the day, but last year they were usually thrown together at the last minute. If that's what's going on this year (and knowing the slacker-ass boozehound staff, it probably is) then I like how the edi is being downplayed. Not that they are bad editorials... hell, this last one made me spray Tsingtao out my nose towards the end, but in the absence of "batshit crazy stuff" that we need to make an editorial position clear on, maybe making a hollow mockery of editorials in general isn't such a bad idea.

It's a bitch getting someone for Another Perspective. I'd offer to write it, but I'm sorta busy at the moment. There are some strange copy editing mistakes in the issue, but it wouldn't be the OC otherwise.

And by surprising turnaround, I mean that it actually only took you two weeks to put the issue together. Future issues will be harder, 'cause you won't have the boozy content to fall back on, but I assume some batshit crazy stuff will happen at the UO, and it will make your lives easier.

Impressive turn time, guys. And I think the issue looks pretty good, my only critique is the same as T-graf's: Why is the edit in the back and why doesn't it have a headline? Also, what happened to Another Perspective? That's a good column to have if you can find somebody for it.

Guys, a strait is a narrow passage of water. In the editorial, you meant straight, as in right or correct (and also, without slant or bend). As we all know, none of my articles ever had errors of the spelling, grammar, or typographical kind. Keep the bar up! Of course, I never did notice spelling errors when I was drunk - perhaps I am finally sobering up after being in the real world for over a year now.

It's a great issue - I'm looking forward to the rest of them this year.

I believe I know the girls that caused the "Sweet Caroline"/"Don't Stop Believing" phenomenon at Max's...

On behalf of them, I apologize.

Great issue, guys. After all, what's a B2B issue without references to Dante's Inferno, Platonic Ideals and Animal House?

Loved it.

Dudes, the issue's pretty rad ... but ... why are you putting the editorials at the back of the book? And why haven't they had headlines.

Cool profile of Ninkasi, by the way, C.J.
