Temporary Obelisk Fully Erected for Summer
Some people are calling the new obelisk a
phallic object. For those that don’t know
what phallic means, the dictionary states,
“An image of the male sex organ, especially
as used as a sign of sexual power.”
I don’t see it.
Thanks to Joe Kadera for the photo.

You can’t embed an image attachment from your email on a public webpage, man. Viewing it requires logging in, and I have no UO login ID. Put it on Flickr or the Commentator’s webspace.
I want to see the phallus! And touch it.

Ahh, sorry, I’m new. I’ll have it fixed in a jiffy.

The giant phallus still doesn’t show up. I just see a huge white box with the words “Giant Phallus” in the top left corner.
A shame, too.

It’s just too bad Chase didn’t have a wise mentor with the forsight to send the Sopranos out with a good architectural history/internet idiocy gag. Think of the possibilities…

Yeah, if only Journey had started playing, and then suddenly there was a mighty rumbling — KERBLAMMO! — a giant, phallic obelisk arises from the ground above which Tony Soprano is seated, impaling him. Cut to black. Roll credits.

** It should have said under which in my post, obviously.
Hey, if it had been up to me, it would have been Night Ranger’s “Sister Christian” playing.
“Where you going, whatcha lookin’ for?/ you know those boys don’t wanna play with you/ it’s true” Lyrical geniuses, those Night Ranger lads.
