I had somebody file a bias response team complaint against me once when I was ME at the Emerald. Some kid was concerned that we included a picture of a group of people performing martial arts during "Korea Night" in our story about the event. Apparently, our focus on that aspect of "Korea Night" perpetuated the stereotype that Koreans are good at Karate (his thoughts, not mine). He came up to the Emerald to explain to me the error of my ways, but alas I was having a bad day, or hungover, or probably both, because I couldn't control myself from bursting out laughing. So he filed a complain, and all they did was write a letter to the next editor-in-chief (this was pretty close to the end of the year) asking for an apology for my insensitivity.
