Election Watch: Campaign Burial

  • Now I’m not going to claim that I’m some sort of expert on putting out a daily newspaper or anything, but I really don’t understand why the ODE put Nick Wilbur’s important story on the fourth page of today’s paper. Isn’t it far more relevant to the UO campus than, say, Western Oregon University’s budget shortfalls? Not even a jump from the front page. I’m mystified.
  • Our candidate list has been updated and should be fully accurate. Expect more information to be added to it in the days to come.

  1. Public Defender Says:

This whole issue with Dallas Brown is largely a non-issue. I’m glad to see that the ASUO Senate is finally trying (emphasis on trying) to take itself seriously for once. My only question is this: isn’t it a bigger deal that Amy DuFour, also an ASUO Exec candidate, accepted a stipend illegally ALL YEAR for her AAA Senate Seat position, as she doesn’t even have a AAA School major, only a PPPM minor?

  2. Ian Says:

It’d seem so to me, PD. I can’t for the life of me understand why they buried it in the eleventh paragraph of a story on the fourth page.

  3. Slade Says:

I was actually sort of surprised to see Dallas in this situation; he was one of the most involved Senators in the EMU budget hearings that he came to.

  4. Nick Says:

Even Geier has decided not to run for exec.

  5. Ian Says:

Thanks. Also, Erica Anderson and Annie Blomberg were for some reason not denoted as members of the Jared/Juliana slate, so that’s been fixed.
