There was also the barely-veiled hints that they'd like to see the Commentator defunded. I wonder when, if ever, we'll see a candidate that isn't just spouting out of their mouth that students deserve a tuition freeze or decrease, without ever addressing the reasons that tuition rates are rising. (For the uninformed, the state higher ed budget has suffered because of government waste, PERS costs, and the OHP expansion, in addition to the fact that legislators can't seem to work with what they have or prioritize budgets properly and the Governor and Secretary of tate don't care to streamline government agencies.
