Election Results
So, the election results are in and — drum roll — Adam Walsh and Kyla Coy beat, nay, destroyed Ashley and Jael, 1174 to 857.
The OC did not formally recommend Adam and Kyla, but we were pulling for them. This is a big fuck you to ASUO stalwart and PFC member Jael and her ticket, which was fovored to win.
Good luck Adam and Kyla. Everybody can expect a good post elections issue soon, which will have some interesting information concerning an important doctored PFC tape.

My friend David debated Jael today on the idea of a “tuition freeze”, and Jael totally lost it.

I ran for exec, adam though is an incredibly qualified and smart person that I completely trust. Jael and Ashley are incompetent and unreliable…who puts 10 million dollars in the hands of people that totally fucked a 5 million dollar budget, double or nothing doesn’t work and the fact that they were so fucking smug makes myself leave with a complete and utter smile, fuck your campaign ten fold ladies…

Ashley and Jael were just plain obnoxious by the last day of campaigning. They shot themselves in the foot by (a) being arrogant fucks, (b) harassing people so bad that they just went and voted against them, (c) running basically a single-issue campaign that students who don’t write checks directly to the college don’t ever care about. There was also the barely-veiled hints that they’d like to see the Commentator defunded.
I wonder when, if ever, we’ll see a candidate that isn’t just spouting out of their mouth that students deserve a tuition freeze or decrease, without ever addressing the reasons that tuition rates are rising. (For the uninformed, the state higher ed budget has suffered because of government waste, PERS costs, and the OHP expansion, in addition to the fact that legislators can’t seem to work with what they have or prioritize budgets properly and the Governor and Secretary of tate don’t care to streamline government agencies. There are other reasons, but these ones seem like the biggest factors.)
