I saw Gibbard in DC with Postal Service last year, and I don’t remember any political ranting. But I doubt dilettante indie rockers pay much attention to presidential politics a year and then some prior to Election Day.

BTW, I read an interview with Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock when “Good News” came out this year. He expressed his extreme displeasure with the president, but promised to keep it out of his music. Good man.

I had an even worse experience at the Death Cab show. Their merch girl is a bitch. My tickets were comped…but I left in the middle of Pretty Girls Make Graves.
